Bam!Bam!Bam! & MadNice Marauders present
“Nehru is going places. For the uninitiated, consider this Nehru’s proper pitch to become one of the most important names in hip-hop” NME
“New rappers will rise and fall but Bishop Nehru is in for the long haul” The Line Of Best Fit
“He seems to self-consciously echo elements of early 90s hip-hop with his jazzy beat selections and caramel flow” CLASH
New York native Bishop Nehru feels like he’s been around for a minute although he’s only just turned 21. Releases on Nas’ Mass Appeal; collab projects with DOOM; tour supports with Kendrick Lamar, Wu Tang Clan, Joey Bada$$; tracks with heavyweight producers DJ Premier, 9th Wonder, Madlib; Bishop spent his teenage years honing his natural ability into one of the most exciting (young) voices in East coast hip-hop.
Effortless looping flows, internal rhyme patterns and penchant for that classic New York sound has seen many calling the young MC one of the saviours of golden age boom-bap.
After a period of great anticipation he finally released his debut album proper Elevators: Act I & II this Spring to rave reviews. A tight and trim LP that sees production duties split neatly between production powerhouses Kaytranada and MF DOOM, each allowing the artist to showcase his incredible ability over 10 tracks. An LP that feels like the realisation of the promise that has been bubbling for the past few years and an arrival of a true hip-hop star.
Support comes from Australia’s rising hip-hop star REMI.
