My lovely daughter, Heather, got me into running a few months ago. I had never run before and had never wanted to, so this is a big challenge for me!
I’m running the Liverpool half marathon to support two charities that are important to me. Heart Research UK funds pioneering research into the prevention, treatment and cure of heart disease. My dad died from heart disease when I was 19 years old — he was too young to die and I was too young to lose him.
MDS UK Patient Support Group provides support and information for patients and families affected by myelodysplastic syndromes, and helps to raise awareness of the condition. I lost my lovely mum to MDS in 2013.
Please help me to help these charities continue with their important work.
