Martin has extensive experience photographing the Cathedral and will show you how to:
compose your pictures
use natural light effectively
experiment with depth of field;
effective use of angles in shot selection.

About Martin Birchall
Lancashire-born Martin started his working career as a trainee photographer and B/W printer at The Bolton Evening News in the 1970s. After passing the NCTJ Press Photographers Proficiency Test with distinction, he soon gained a reputation for his creative style of work. Martin worked as a full-time staff photographer at the Bolton Evening News for many years winning awards along the way.
In the 1990s Martin moved to the Liverpool Echo and Daily Post as a staff photographer and became one of the country’s top award-winning press photographers, winning the prestigious British Photographer of the Year award along with the regional title award.
The course begins at 10.00 am with an informal introduction and morning tea or coffee followed by a full practical session until 1 pm.

Tripod if you have one.
